Homestead Hummus Recipe
1/4c homemade tahini*
Roasted and fresh chopped garlic to your liking
2-4T lemon juice
1 can low sodium garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
0-2T olive oil
Puree in food processor and top with olive oil drizzle and sesame seeds. I don’t add any oil or water to my hummus, and just drizzle a trace of olive oil on top. Keep covered and refrigerated. Great with raw veggies, steamed veggies, crackers, tortilla chips, pita, chicken, and has some great protein! Easy, Delicious, & Pennies to make. Yes, please!
*Homemade Tahini
1c toasted sesame seeds, cooled off
4-5T Avocado or grapeseed oil
Pinch of seasalt – optional
Puree sesame seeds until crumbly paste.
Add oil 1T at a time, and keep pulsing until super creamy, about 2minutes of keeping the pulse button mostly down.
Optional add a pinch of seasalt, and blend it in thoroughly.
Will keep a month or a little longer in the fridge. I store mine in an old jam jar.
