Mediterranean Seasoning Blend

RainbowSparkles/ March 16, 2022/ Health and Wellness, Kitchen Witchery, Recipes

Mediterranean, Middle-Eastern, East Indian, and beyond, after numerous blending experiments, I have created a blend that is warm, earthy, and bright, like a vibrant sunflower smiling towards the sun – and, it’s a salt-free base for you to be able to adjust the saltiness to your own preference and needs. This is now the base for many of our recipes and is full of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant herbs and spices, so it not only tastes AMAZEBALLS, it’s actually good for you.

Why salt-free? Options, beautiful souls, options. When I choose to include salt in a recipe using this magnificent Mediterranean Seasoning Blend (anything from roasted potatoes to lentil soup, falafel, meat marinade, and more), I can choose between veggie or chicken bouillon, garlic salt, liquid aminos, or our favorite blend of finely ground Himalayan pink salt and sea salt, depending on what works best for our family. I encourage you to experiment and figure out what works best for you and yours. I often do slightly heaping measurements of the herbs in this mix, especially with the parsley. YUM!

Mediterranean Lentil Soup

The recipe below is the quantity we enjoy for a full recipe like Mediterranean Lentil Soup (Note: If you are Gluten-intolerant, make sure to read the label carefully on your bag of dried lentils… many brands are processed on/in facilities that process wheat items so they’re not gluten-free). Since we enjoy this blend often because it’s so versatile, I often double or triple the recipe and store in whatever old jar I have around, to always have some on hand. From roasted potatoes to baked chicken, rice, and more, it adds so much flavor and aroma.

Being salt-free, you can also add it to things you may already have like chicken soup and not overly-salt yourself while adding a TON of layers of deliciousness. May you enjoy great health in body, mind, and soul.
